A Call to Support in Times of Crisis

WVCEA Launches Hurricane Relief Fund

In the wake of recent hurricanes ravaging parts of the Southeast, the West Virginia Christian Education Association (WVCEA) has stepped forward to provide help and hope through its newly established Hurricane Relief Fund. This initiative is more than just a response to disaster; it is a direct outgrowth of WVCEA's mission to shape young people into adults who love the Lord and live out His teachings in practical ways. The relief fund is a perfect embodiment of the biblical philosophy that guides WVCEA’s work, reminding us of the responsibility to love others as Christ loved us. This fund allows us to unite in an effort that not only rebuilds physical structures, but also buoys hope and demonstrates the love of Christ to those in need.

John 13:34-35 perfectly captures the heart behind this initiative. Jesus says, "A new commandment I give to you, that you love one another: just as I have loved you, you also are to love one another. By this all people will know that you are my disciples, if you have love for one another." The Hurricane Relief Fund is an opportunity for the Christian community, especially the students WVCEA serves, to live out this command. It’s a real-world example of the lessons taught in our schools on how we are called to act on our faith and extend the love of Christ to those in need.

WVCEA’s partnership with His Good News magazine plays a pivotal role in spreading the word about the fund, as well as in mobilizing support from the broader Christian community. Together, WVCEA and His Good News Magazine are working to raise awareness of the urgent need in the Southeast and to encourage the body of Christ to respond with generosity and compassion.

This partnership goes beyond simply raising funds. It’s a practical demonstration of the biblical values that both organizations hold dear. In Matthew 25:40, Jesus says, "Truly, I say to you, as you did it to one of the least of these my brothers, you did it to me." WVCEA understands that Christian education is about more than academics; it’s about shaping the hearts of young people to love God and to love their neighbors, even when those neighbors are hundreds of miles away, facing the devastation of a natural disaster.

As WVCEA continues to equip Christian schools to lead with excellence, the Hurricane Relief Fund is an invitation for the broader Christian community to come alongside them in a spirit of love and service. Whether through prayer, financial support, or simply spreading the word, every act of kindness and generosity contributes to the rebuilding of lives and communities in the Southeast. It’s an opportunity to reflect Christ’s love in action and to teach the next generation that our faith is not only about what we believe, but also about how we live out that belief in service to others.

Now is the time to act and be a part of this vital work. You can make a difference by donating to the WVCEA Hurricane Relief Fund and helping those in the Southeast rebuild their lives. Visit this link to give today and show the love of Christ through your generosity.
