Senate Bill Alert

Necessary improvements to the Hope Scholarship legislation.

SB598 is a bill that addresses necessary improvements to the Hope Scholarship legislation.

It clarifies several areas of confusion to make the program run more smoothly. The bill also removes the 5% threshold next year and allows for the scholarship to open up for all West Virginia children on July 1, 2026 so that Education tax dollars follow the child regardless of their choice of education provider. The bill has a requirement for all public and private schools to teach about the Holocaust too. This bill needs you to voice your opinion to your Legislator. The list of the Senate Finance Committee members is below. The bill is in the Senate Finance Committee and needs to be placed on the agenda.
